Overview

Amateur Digital is designed with privacy in mind. We collect minimal data necessary for the app to function, and we do not sell or share your personal information with third parties.

Data Collection

Amateur Digital may collect the following data:

Location Data: When you grant permission, we access your device's GPS location solely to calculate your Maidenhead grid square for amateur radio operation. This location data is processed locally on your device and is not transmitted to any server.
Audio Data: The app accesses your device's microphone (via USB audio interface) to receive and decode digital radio signals. Audio is processed locally in real-time and is not recorded or transmitted.
Settings: Your preferences (callsign, grid locator, RTTY settings) are stored locally and optionally synced via iCloud to your other devices. This data never leaves Apple's iCloud infrastructure.

All data is stored locally on your device or in your private iCloud account:

Settings are stored in UserDefaults and iCloud Key-Value Store
No data is stored on external servers
No accounts or registration required

Third-Party Services

Amateur Digital does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The app does not contain any ads.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your data to third parties. Your callsign and messages are transmitted over amateur radio frequencies as part of normal amateur radio operation, which is subject to FCC regulations requiring identification.

Children's Privacy

Amateur Digital is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.

Your Rights

You can delete all app data by uninstalling Amateur Digital from your device. To remove iCloud-synced settings, go to Settings > Apple ID > iCloud > Manage Storage and delete Amateur Digital data.
